Rental mobil merupakan sebuah badan usaha dibidang jasa penyewaan
kendaraan roda empat (mobil). Sistem informasi rental mobil pada Ikosho
Car Rental dinilai masih belum efektif karena pencatatan data
peminjaman, data pengembalian dan transaksi sehari-hari beserta
laporan-laporan masih dilakukan secara tertulis manual dengan pencatatan
menggunakan buku besar sehingga sistem ini tidak efisen dalam menghemat
waktu, tenaga dan rawan untuk terjadi kerusakan. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk mengetahui sistem yang sedang berjalan, membuat
perancangan sistem dan untuk mengetahui implementasi dari hasil
rancangan sistem informasi yang dibangun. Adapun maksud dari penelitian
ini adalah membangun sistem informasi rental mobil berbasis web pada
Ikosho Car Rental. Dalam membangun sistem tersebut metode pendekatan
yang digunakan adalah metode pendekatan terstruktur dengan menggunakan
metode pengembangan prototype dimana teknik pengumpulan data yang
digunakan adalah observasi dan wawancara. Sebagai alat bantu analisis
dan perancangan yang digunakan adalah flowmap, diagram konteks, dan data
Data flow diagram. Sedangkan perangkat lunak pendukung yang digunkan
adalah PHP, dengan database MySQL. Hasil dari penelitian di Ikosho Car
Rental dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan dibangunnya sistem informasi
rental mobil berbasis web diharapkan dapat membantu dalam proses
mengelola data pelanggan, peminjaman, pengembalian dan dapat mengurangi
kesalahan dalam proses pencatatan data serta mengurangi kesalahandalam
pembuatan laporan.

The information system of car rental at Ikosho Car Rental is still considered effective for data recording borrowing, repayment of data and daily transactions and their reports are still done manually in writing by recording using ledger so that the system is not efisen in saving time, effort and prone for damage. This study aims to determine the running system, making system design and to determine the implementation of the design of information systems are built. The purpose of this research is to build a system of web-based car rental information on Ikosho Car Rental. In building such systems approach used is a structured approach using a prototype development where data collection techniques used were observation and interviews. As the analysis and design tools used are flowmap, context diagrams, data flow diagrams and data. While software support, we choose the PHP, MySQL database. Results of research in Ikosho Car Rental can be concluded that the construction of information systems web-based car rental is expected to assist in the process of managing customer data, borrowing, repayment and can reduce errors in data recording process and reduce errors in the preparation of reports.
